Greentech in Malaysia 2025 – The Spirit of the Ummah

Bringing people closer to Allah begins with truly understanding the PEOPLE. We always try to do our best to meet and understand our users and find ways to serve them better. Last month, in December 2025, we were blessed with the opportunity to visit our users in Malaysia.

Our goal was simple: spend meaningful time together and share our story. By the end of the visit, we were truly inspired and amazed by all that we had learned.

Meeting Our Users at IIUM & the Blue Mosque

Our journey led us to the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) campus and the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque (commonly known as the Blue Mosque). Alhamdulillah, we met many brothers and sisters there.

  • At IIUM, two brothers guided us throughout the day.
  • We had the pleasure of meeting some senior professors who shared our enthusiasm for learning and growing in Deen.
  • We met a brother, a “pro user,” who completes a full Quran khatam every month using our Quran app. He learned and practiced Tajweed through the app. He also shared valuable feedback, suggesting ways to make Tajweed rules more accessible.
  • One brother, who uses our app, came with his family and shared some interesting suggestions.
  • We also met a brother who reads Surah Baqarah daily using our app due to his illness. Witnessing his dedication was humbling, and we pray that Allah blesses him with good health and his family with barakah.

Collaboration and Partnership to Strengthen the Ummah

We visited two prestigious companies, MyFundAction and Durioo+. We also met Dr. Gafur and Sinan Ismail, brothers who share our energy and vision to serve the Ummah.

We discussed many collaboration opportunities and believe that working together will help the Ummah even more.

Greentech User Meetup in Malaysia

On December 25th, around 40-45 brothers and sisters joined our meetup. We shared our origin story, current projects, and future goals. During the presentation, we highlighted some user testimonials and opened the floor for questions over dinner.

Alhamdulillah, we received many thoughtful questions, including:

  • A sister suggested a subscription model for accountability: “I’m paying, so I must use it.” We clarified that important features will remain free.
  • Questions covered Madhhab-specific content, AI in Islamic apps, and Shariah compliance.
  • One sister asked which features are underutilised. We answered: search, planner, and the Seerah app.

We also found that our Sadiq app is not very popular among them, as they use other apps, even ones with ads.

It was heartwarming to reconnect with two brothers we’ve known online for a long time but had never met in person.

Lessons That Touched Our Hearts

We realised that people are using our apps in ways we never imagined. This is truly from Allah alone.

The love and respect we received from the people in Malaysia will inspire our entire team. We look forward to visiting them again.

May Allah forgive our shortcomings, increase the benefit of our work for the Ummah, and unite the Ummah!
