GTAF participated MTF 2024

GTAF’s Amazing Experience at Muslim Tech Fest 2024

Our UK team members had the pleasure of participating in Muslim Tech Fest 2024, held on June 1st. Representing our team were Co-founder and Trustee Riasat, Outreach Coordinator Hasib, along with our volunteers Mohammed and Bayezid.

We had an amazing experience at the event, which left us inspired and motivated to keep pursuing our mission that started in 2015. We are excited to share some of the key highlights from the event with you. Let’s get started!

About Muslim Tech Fest

Muslim Tech Fest (MTF) is an annual event that brings together Muslim tech enthusiasts, professionals, and entrepreneurs from around the world. It serves as a platform to showcase innovative tech solutions, discuss the latest trends in technology, and foster collaboration within the Muslim community.

The event features keynote speeches, panel discussions, workshops, and an exhibition area where organisations can present their products and services. MTF aims to bridge the gap between technology and the Muslim Ummah, encouraging the development of tech-driven solutions that serve the needs of the community.

Our Experience at Muslim Tech Fest 2024

Connecting with Users

From the beginning, Alhamdulillah, our stall was one of the busiest at the event. We were continuously engaging with attendees, and it seemed, by the permission of Allah, that we had a dedicated fanbase who had been using our apps for years. It was thrilling to meet and interact with so many of our users in person.

Many attendees appreciated our app demo and installed our apps on the spot. We are truly blessed to have had such a positive experience.

Getting Connected to Users

Engaging with Young Tech Enthusiasts

A significant highlight of the event was the overwhelming interest from young tech enthusiasts. They asked numerous questions, shared innovative ideas, and exchanged contact information with us. It was heartening to witness their enthusiasm and passion for technology and to see how eager they were to use it to serve the Ummah.

Networking with Professionals

Our team also took the opportunity to visit other stalls at the exhibition, networking with numerous professionals, including Muslims in senior positions at renowned tech companies and organizations.

Among our fellow exhibitors, we had the pleasure of meeting the founders of Teamhub, Yusraa, Amanahfy, and Qariyb.

Collaboration Opportunities

We had the pleasure of meeting several app founders, offering them valuable feedback on their products. Additionally, we connected with inspiring individuals planning to launch new Islamic apps. These insightful conversations led to the exchange of contact information for future collaboration and support.

Our networking extended further as we met Chris, the CEO of LaunchGood, and enjoyed a brief yet delightful chat with him.

We also connected with various developers, opening doors for future collaboration. This connection holds promise for mentoring and guiding Islamic ed-tech projects, fostering a community dedicated to leveraging technology for educational purposes within the Ummah.

Networking with Professionals

Innovative Ideas and Potential Projects

We learned about the Muslim Research Network based in Oxford and met a sister dedicated to improving Quran accessibility for deaf Muslims using British Sign Language. Our Co-founder Riasat suggested incorporating haptics to enhance their Quranic experience, an idea that was well received.

Additionally, we exchanged contacts with several university students, opening the door for potential ISOC events in the future. Our conversations with individuals working with schools and masajid were equally promising, paving the way for potential future events at their respective institutions.

A Successful Day

We had an exceptional day, Alhamdulillah. Our stall was among the busiest, allowing us to network with numerous esteemed individuals. The attendees were impressed by our work, dedication, and vision, particularly noting our ability to develop top-quality apps as a non-profit organization.

This experience has been incredibly fulfilling, and we are thankful for the support and interest we received. Please keep us in your prayers as we continue striving to serve the Ummah with excellence. We eagerly anticipate future events and the opportunity to meet more of you, in sha Allah.
