Community Engagement Details

Stall Setup and Jumu’ah Prayer
Alhamdulillah, on 27th September 2024, we held an outreach event at Masjid Fida in Leicester. Our team arrived early and set up the stall. The sisters’ section was prepared with free goodies and brochures for attendees.

Once everything was ready, we joined the Jumu’ah prayer. The Khateeb spoke about the excellent manners of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It was a reminder that set a positive tone for the day.

Introducing GTAF to the Community
After the prayer, we introduced GTAF to the congregation. The audience listened attentively. Many scanned our QR codes to visit our website and explore our Islamic apps.

We then moved outside the masjid to hand out leaflets and speak with people. One brother suggested an app feature that puts phones on silent when entering a masjid using GPS. This led to a useful discussion about possible future developments.

Engagement with Community Leaders
A highlight of the day was meeting Shockat Adam, the local MP. We spoke briefly about GTAF’s work and gave him some gifts.
Later, we met the masjid chairman to discuss their timetable website and possible collaborations that could benefit the local Muslim community.

Looking Ahead
As the event ended, we packed up with a sense of achievement, Alhamdulillah. The day brought valuable conversations, helpful feedback, and fresh ideas. We left inspired to strengthen GTAF’s bond with the Leicester Muslim community and work on future projects, in sha Allah.
